Home Remedies for Stomach Gas – Problem of the stomach gas is normal during the digestive process. Almost every healthy person passes gas about 10 times a day. But then the excess of gas starts forming in the stomach and if it cannot come out then this affects our health badly. This is known as stomach gas problem. Gas forms in the stomach when bacteria ferment carbohydrates present in food.
This is mainly found in high fiber foods like fruits, vegetables, whole grain, beans, and peas. Other causes of gas include excessive drinking, not chewing your food properly, eating oily and spicy food, depression, bacterial infection, improper digestion, irregular lifestyle, artificial addictive and constipation.
Some more reason behind these is medical conditions like lactose or gluten intolerant and chronic intestinal condition, for example, irritable bowel syndrome or inflammatory bowel disease. Common symptoms of stomach gas are bad breath, loss of appetite, a coating of thick layer on the tongue, cramps in the stomach, weight gain etc. When the excess of gas forms in the stomach and you are not able to expel it then you can suffer from acidity and gas pain. It’s our fortune that this problem can be treated easily with some home remedies.

Today I am going to share 10 home remedies which can treat your gas problem easily.

Yellow Mustard:-
Yellow mustard is a very effective home remedy for treating the gas problem and moreover it is easily available in every house. It contains acetic acid which cures stomach acidity and provides immediate relief from stomach pain and gas. Further, it helps in keeping our digestive system healthy and strong. Consume 2 spoons of yellow mustard regularly with warm water. You will get relief from nausea pain 5-10 minutes.

Apple Cider Vinegar:-
Apple cider vinegar is commonly used for curing indigestion problems but this also treats the gas problem. Enzymes present in it improve digestion and keeps our body alkalizes, which relieves our excess gas and affected person feel more comfortable. Moreover, this can also be used by breastfeeding mothers. Mix 2 spoons of raw, unfiltered apple cider vinegar in a glass of warm water. Allow this mixture to cool down at room temperature and then drink it normally. Repeat it twice a day. If apple cider is not available then you can use regular vinegar also but in very less quantity.
I personally like this Home Remedies for Stomach Gas as apple cider vinegar also cleanse the body and remove toxins from the body. I am using this 2 times a week.

Ginger:-
Ginger is very helpful in treating gas problems. It has antiemetic power which expels gas from our stomach. Actually, ginger increases the activity of stomach emptying and improves digestion which comforts our stomach as well as intestinal tract. Prepare a mixture of ginger, fennel seeds and cardamom in equal amount. Now mix one spoon of this solution in one cup of water and add one pinch of asafetida. Use this mixture once or twice a day for immediate relief.
Consume one cup of ginger juice having one pinch of asafetida or honey mixed with it.
Eat a piece of ginger after your meal to prevent the production of gas. You can also add ginger to your food or in the salad. Consuming ginger tea also controls stomach gas. (avoid tea after 5-6 PM). Boil one-half spoon of ginger in one-half cup of water for 5-7 minutes at low flame then drink it, do this 2-3 times a day.

Baking Soda and Lemon:-
Baking soda is also known as sodium bicarbonate and this works as an effective antacid for expelling stomach gas. Effect of baking soda increases when it is mixed with lemon.
Squeeze half lemon in one glass of water. Add one spoon of baking soda in it. Drink this solution immediately. This will give you instant relief from stomach pain. If lemon is not available then you can use only baking soda. But don’t use baking soda every time in the problem of gas. It is a temporary cure and using it, again and again, is not good for your health.
Note: Don’t use an excess of baking soda because it affects our health. Moreover, people who are restricted to use sodium should not take baking soda.

Activated Charcoal:-
Activated charcoal has the excess of absorption capacity; therefore it is effective for curing gas and acidity. It has small pores which absorb gas from the stomach and intestinal tract and this comforts us immediately.
Consume 500mg activated charcoal, 2 hours before eating or after the meal. Drink plenty of water after consuming this paste. Activated charcoal is easily available in form of tablets, capsules, and powder in the market. Consult a doctor for right dosage which can be good for your health.

Cinnamon:-
Cinnamon calms our stomach and prevents the formation of gas in our stomach.
It increases the level of gastric acid and pepsin in out stomach. This reduces the activity of the formation of gas. Consume half spoon of cinnamon mixed with one glass of hot milk. You can also add 1 spoon honey in it according to your taste. Moreover, you can drink tea of cinnamon. For preparing tea, boil half spoon of cinnamon in one cup of water. Allow it to cool for 5 minutes and then drink it.

Fennel Seeds:-
Fennel seeds are very beneficial for people suffering from gas and bloating problems. It works as a carminative agent and expels gas from the intestinal tract. This is also helpful for infants suffering from stomach pain. Crush 1 spoon of fennel seeds in a mortar. Pour 1 cup of hot water in it and cover it. Let it cool down for 5 minutes. Filter this mixture and drink this tea twice a day. You can also drink having a heavy meal session to prevent gas.
Moreover, you can also chew fennel seeds instead, you can mix fennel seeds, cinnamon, mint leaves in equal amounts and boils them in 2 cups of water for 5-7 minutes. Filter it and drink after it gets cool. Chamomile tea can also help in treating stomach gas problem.

Asafetida:-
It has antispasmodic and flatulent properties which help in curing problems like indigestion, acidity, constipation etc. Add a pinch of asafetida in a glass of warm water and mix it properly. Drink it twice a day. Moreover, you can also eat a banana by putting a small amount of asafetida on it. Repeat this twice a day to get relief from the gas problem.

Peppermint:-
Peppermint has menthol which has antispasmodic properties which help in expelling gas and relaxes our stomach. According to a report published in 2017 in digestive and liver disease, peppermint oil is very beneficial for people suffering from swelling, diarrhea, constipation, gas, stomach pain etc.
Peppermint can be used in various ways to treat the gas problem. Make peppermint tea by adding one 1 teaspoon of fresh peppermint leaves in a cup of boiling water. Now let it cool down for 10 minutes. Filter it and then add honey to it. Drink this mixture for 2-3 times a day.
Another method if mixing 2 drops of peppermint oil in half a cup of fresh water. Drink it twice a day. You can chew some peppermint leaves for immediate relief too.

Buttermilk:-

Buttermilk combined with carom seeds and black salt works more effectively. Mix 1 spoon of carom seeds and black salt in the cup of buttermilk and drink this immediately. You can also add a pinch of dry ginger and rock salt to a glass of buttermilk. Drink it once or twice a day daily for few days till you not recover.

Friends, If you suffer from gas due to lactose supplements as it helps you to digest the lactose and reduce the gas problem. Consult the doctor before using right dosage. Avoid food which increases gas in the stomach. Reduce the usage of dairy products. Instead of eating a large or heavy meal at one time, eat small or short meals in short gaps. Eat slowly and chew your bite properly. Avoid smoking and do regular yoga or exercise. It will help you in expelling gas out of the stomach. Some yoga posture can also help you to get rid of gas problems.
