Cold Water
You can shock your body with cold water to stop hiccups. Any shock will cause a distraction, and this will prevent your hiccups.
Drink one glass of cold water mixed with honey quickly whenever you experience or feel hiccups. You can also rinse with cold water for controlling hiccups. Sucking ice cube is also useful.
Drink Upside Down
As drinking cold water give a shock to our body and stop hiccups. But this remedy can be more helpful if we drink water upside down. Fill a glass with cold water, bend down on your back, and put your head down. Now drink the water from the opposite side of glass repeats it; it doesn’t work on the first try.
Hold Your Breath
Holding your breath is an old cure for hiccups. Take a deep breath and keep it for as long as you can exhale the breath out slowly in a controlled manner. Repeat the above steps several times until hiccups stop.
Sugar
Sugar is an excellent remedy for hiccups, especially for small children who cannot do more complicated solutions. Swallowing sugar stimulates and stops hiccups. Take one spoon of white or brown sugar. Hold the sugar in the mouth for 5 seconds. Allow the sugar to dissolve slowly without chewing it. Then drink a sip of water.
Vinegar
Vinegar is an effective remedy to stop hiccups. Its sour taste distracts the mind, which stops the hiccups. You can use white, malt or apple cider vinegar. Swallow half spoon of vinegar with water. You can also mix vinegar in water.

Peanut Butter
Peanut butter remedy is also an age-old remedy for treating hiccups. The sticky, gooey consistency of peanut butter interrupts the breathing pattern, which stops hiccups.
Put one spoon of peanut butter in the mouth. Hold it for some time then swallow without chewing. Drink a glass of water or milk if required. If peanut butter is not available or you have peanut allergies, you can use almond butter.
Breath into a Paper Bag
A tested trick for stopping hiccups is breathing into a paper bag. This helps stop hiccups.
Press a small paper bag around your mouth tightly so that external air does not go inside. Now breathe slowly and deeply. Repeat the process several times until you overcome the hiccup until you master the hiccup problem.
Lemon
Lemon stops hiccups in midstream. Sour tastes of lemon overwhelm the irritated nerves which help overcome hiccups. Put half spoon of lemon juice without mixing water in your mouth. Its strong bitter taste will compel you to swallow it, but you have to hold it in your mouth for some time. This will stop hiccups immediately. Another way to use it is as such- drink half glass water mixed with one spoon of lemon juice. This is somewhat less effective but is useful for hiccups. Cardamom
Cardamom has muscle relaxing properties that help to stop hiccups. Mix one spoon of pounded cardamom in one glass of hot water. Leave it as such for 15 minutes and then strain it. Drink this mixture in case of hiccups.
Chamomile
Chamomile also has muscle relaxant properties, which reduce the contractions in the diaphragm during hiccups. Make a powder of dried chamomile herb. Mix one spoon of this powder in one glass of water and drink this to get rid of the problem of hiccups.
