Ringworm (Dermatologists) is a fungal infection of skin, scalp, and nails. The medical name of ringworm is tinea. This is caused by fungi of top layer or skin which feeds on keratin protein and lives in the warm and moist atmosphere. It makes circulate and dark border structure on skin that’s why it is called ringworm. Moreover, it also causes itchiness, swelling, and redness. There are various types of ringworm which include the affected skin, scalp or nails of your body. The affected area by ringworm is called “tinea cruris”. Symptoms of the ringworm are depending on the type of ringworm you are suffering. It can be red, itchy, raised, scaly patches that might cause oozing and blistering.

Today I am going to share 10 natural home remedies which can help in you in ringworm treatment naturally.

  1. Garlic for Ringworm Treatment:-

Garlic has an excess amount of anti-fungal properties which cures ringworm. Rub two garlic cloves on ringworm. Do this 4-5 times a day until ringworm finish completely. 

  1. Neem for Ringworm Treatment:-

Neem has antiseptic and anti-microbial properties which cure itchiness and skin infection. Use neem oil on the infected area.

You can also mix one-half spoon of neem oil in one cup of aloe vera gel. Prepare a paste by grinding neem leaves and mix with turmeric powder and sesame oil in equal amount. Apply this paste on the affected area to get rid of ringworm infection. 

  1. Apple Cider Vinegar for Ringworm Treatment:-

Apple cider vinegar is effective for every type of skin infection because it contains anti-microbial and astringent properties.

Dip a cotton ball in apple cider vinegar and use this on ringworm. Repeat it 2-3 times a day till you do not recover from the problem. 

  1. Iodine for Ringworm Treatment:-

Iodine tincture has anti-fungal and antiseptic properties which help in the treatment of ringworm. You can easily buy 2 percent iodine tincture from any drug store. Don’t use more than 3 times a day.

Wash your affected area with antibacterial soap than soak with the towel. Now keep this Cotton ball dipped in iodine tincture on that area. Do this 2-3 times a day. 

  1. Tea tree Oil for Ringworm Treatment:-

Tea tree oil has anti-fungal and antiseptic qualities which cure ringworm. Dip a cotton ball in tree tea oil and keep this on the affected area. Do this thrice a day. You can also use lavender oil in place of tea tree oil.

  1. Vinegar and Salt for Ringworm Treatment:-

Both vinegar and salt fights with fungal infection. Therefore these are used for ringworm treatment easily at home.

Prepare a paste by mixing white vinegar and salt. Apply this on ringworm area and leave it for 5 minutes. Do this 2-3 a day until this infection finishes completely. 

  1. Green Papaya for Ringworm Treatment:-

Green papaya also cures ringworm as it has anti-fungal properties. Rub slices of green papaya on affected areas. Do this for 15 minutes and then wash with water. Repeat this twice a day. Or, prepare a paste by grinding fresh leaves of green papaya and seeds of dried papaya. After that apply it on the affected area for minutes and then clean. 

  1. Turmeric for Ringworm Treatment:-

According to Ayurveda turmeric is rich in antiseptic, antibiotic and anti-fungal characteristics. Moreoever, it nourishes our skin and promotes the healing process. Mix water in turmeric powder to make a paste and apply this on the affected area.

You can also drink (if you want to) one-half cup of hot water mixed with one spoon of turmeric powder. 

  1. Lemongrass for Ringworm Treatment:-

Lemongrass contains powerful anti fungal and anti-inflammatory properties which help in the cure of ringworm treatment. It is helpful in relieving itchiness. Its consumption can expel toxic substances from our body. Drink this tea 3 times a day.

You can also mix chamomile tea in it. Moreover, you can directly apply the paste of lemongrass tea bags, oil and its leaves on affected areas. 

  1. Licorice Root for Ringworm Treatment:-

Licorice root has some fungicidal infections. Add 5 spoon of licorice root in water and put it on heat for some time. After that leave it for 20 minutes to cool down and strain the solution. Dip a cotton ball in it and keep this on ringworm area.

Do this 3 times a day to get better results. You can feel inflammation while using some remedies like apple cider vinegar, garlic, and tea tree oil. Moreover, people having sensitive skin should use above oils by mixing with oils likes coconut oil and almond oils.

As ringworm is an excessively contagious disease which spreads rapidly, therefore, raise some steps to stop this from spreading. You can use any cloth or handkerchief to cover that infected area.

From the prevention of ringworm, The National Institute of Health recommends people to always live in the hygienic environment. You should keep your skin dry and clean, always use shampoo and body soap regularly to stay away from any type of health issues.
