Cavities Tooth Decay Causes, Symptoms, and Treatment- There is a statement in English– “Oral Health is Overall Health,” which means the good condition of the mouth is an indicator of good health.

Before starting the post, I want to say one thing that whenever you feel a cough, cold, or fever. Do around 30-40 times rinse with warm water in a day, because of its clean mouth and remove bad odor and infection germs from the mouth which helps income out of the health issue faster.

Cavities Tooth Decay:-

Our teeth are made up of calcium, phosphorus, and many other minerals. The hardest part of the human body is teeth but without care or awareness, they occur a condition of tooth decay. This causes pain in teeth and we are unable to eat food. If it happens in our front teeth then it can even affect our face too, due to which we start losing our focus, confidence and this pain is not bearable in any situation.

Causes of Tooth Decay:-

This is a widespread problem, and because this occurs in our mouth, that’s why we often ignore it.

Three main reasons behind Cavities Tooth Decay are:

Diet:-

Foodstuff, which contains a large amount of carbohydrates and sugar can cause tooth decay. Moreover, things like candy, sweets, bakery products (cake/pastries, etc.), and potato chips are more likely to damage our teeth.

Oral Hygiene Practices:-

Poor oral hygiene ultimately leads to tooth decay, brush your teeth twice a day. This can decrease the growth of bacteria’s in our mouth and helps in obliterating food from our teeth. Proper hygiene includes brushing your teeth regularly, flossing, and using mouthwash.

Presence of Bacteria in Mouth:-

Even we clean our teeth properly then also there are some bacteria in everyone’s mouth. But the growth of bacteria is increased or decreased; it only depends on how effectively we clean our teeth. If there is a significant growth of bacteria, then there is something responsible for it.

As soon as we finish our meal, bacteria start is functioning and form a transparent, sticky layer called plaque. Plaque contains bacteria that feed on sugar in the food we eat. Brushing teeth twice a day can stop these bacteria. As the bacteria are feed, they start making acids, and this attack the teeth after we eat. These acids destroy tooth enamel causing tooth decay.

Symptoms of Cavities Tooth Decay

The first symptom of tooth decay is the brown stain on any surface of teeth, which increases in some time and changes into a hole. Food starts accumulating in it. This increases the activity of bacteria and works through the core of teeth, creating a cavity.

You can experience strange sensitivity to temperature in the infected tooth. Cavities often cause sensitivity to hot or cold liquids. When a cavity gets more abundant and closer to nerve, then it can cause an excess amount of pain in teeth’s which goes into the whole mouth, face, and then in body.

9 Prevention’s for Tooth Decay

  1. Go for a checkup every six months.
  2. Wake up early in the morning and give some time to your regular work like brush your teeth while standing in front of the mirror so that you can check whether there is proper hygiene of teeth or not.
  3. Brush teeth twice a day, once in the morning and once before sleeping.
  4. Use mouth after having food or do some gargles so that your mouth cleans and fresh.
  5. Try to do a brush for at least 5 minutes.
  6. Avoid eating sweets and oily products, or do some extra gargles after eating.
  7. Use more fruits and vegetables in your diet.
  8. Avoid eating sticky candies.
  9. Avoid or reduce the quantity of cigarettes, cold drinks, tobacco, etc.

Tooth Decay Treatment

If there is tooth decay or cavity in your teeth, then visit a doctor and ask about the treatment of your tooth decay problem. If the deterioration is not severe, then the doctor will remove the decay and repair the tooth with a filling. This can be of some color as of teeth or can be of a metallic color, which depends on us.

But if there is a problem with a toothache, then the dentist will have an x-ray of those teeth. After this, the doctor will tell you about its treatment. Sometimes the nerve in the middle of the tooth can be damaged, and then the dentist will need to carry out root canal therapy and put a cap on the teeth. Moreover, if the tooth is so severely decayed that it cannot be repaired, then the dentist may have to take the tooth out and can fix false dentures there.

It is after said that “Prevention is better than cure,” so it will be better to take care of teeth before it is getting too late for the treatment.
