Today I am going to share 10 natural home remedies to get relief from stuffy blocked nose very easily.

  1. Garlic:-

Garlic is an effective remedy for blocked nose. Its antiviral and antifungal properties help fight with respiratory infections.

Boil 3 garlic cloves in a cup of water. You can also add one half spoon of turmeric powder in it. Drink the mixture regularly until you totally recover from this nasal problem. you can eat hot garlic cloves and then consume these for blocked nose benefits.

  1. Apple Cider Vinegar:-

Apple cider vinegar clears the nose quickly because it helps breaking the mucus. Also, being rich in nutrients, it is good for overall health and immunity. Mix two spoon of apple cider vinegar with one spoon of honey and one cup of warm water. Repeat this 2-3 times day for several days to kill the problem completely.

  1. Steam Inhalation:-

Steam inhalation is also a popular home remedy for relief from blocked nose. It works as natural expectorant to clear the congestion. You can do this 2-4 times a day.

Add one spoon of crushed carom seeds to boiling water. Inhale the steam; you can also add peppermint essential oil drops in that water.

Note:- Steam inhalation is generally not recommended for younger children because of risk of scalding. Moreover, it is not suitable for pregnant women and for those who suffer from high blood pressure, heart condition and central nervous system disorders.

  1. Nasal Irrigation:-

Putting saline solution in nose can also treat nasal congestion. It clears the mucus. Add one spoon of salt in 2 cups of distilled water. By using neti pot and irrigation device, put this solution in your nose. Do this 1-2 times a day for few days.

Note:- Use only distilled or boiled water and clean the irrigation device after every wash.

  1. Eucalyptus Oil:-

Eucalyptus oil has decongestant and anti inflammatory properties which help treating nasal congestion. Add 2-3 drops of Eucalyptus oil on fresh handkerchief and inhale its fragrance 3-4 time a day. You can put  few drops of this oil on your pillow so you can inhale it even when you are sleeping.

  1. Warm Water:-

Warm water is very important to clean the mucus in nose for curing blocked nose. Therefore warm water is very effective remedy and moreover it keep the nasal passage moisturized.  Clear the mucus 4-5 times a day and then clean your nose with warm water and fresh handkerchief or cotton towel.  

You can also take hot shower to get rid from this problem. Another option for this is dip a cloth piece in warm water and keep it on face for 10-15 minutes. Repeat this process 3-4 times a day.

  1. Herbal Tea:-

Hot herbal tea breaks the mucus clogging in nasal passage. Herbs present in it help in expelling out the toxic substances from our body. Drink your favorite herbal tea twice a day. Peppermint tea is one of the most effective teas for blocked nose.

  1. Black Pepper:-

Black pepper is very useful for blocked sinus and nasal congestion. This causes sneezing and hence clears the mucus. Take some black pepper on your palm and put some sesame oil drops in it. Now apply this mixture in your nose using finger. Now inhale it with deep breath. This will cause sneezing and do not ignore that. Sneezing is good in this case as it clear the way in the nose for proper oxygen.

  1. Spicy Tomato Tea:-

Spicy tomato tea speeds up the flow of mucus through the nasal passage and therefore is a good remedy for nasal congestion.

Boil 1 cup of tomato juice alongwith one spoon of garlic, one spoon of lemon juice and one pinch of salt. Drink this warm spicy tomato tea slowly. Also you can add (if you want to) spicy foods like ginger, garlic, onion and red chili.

  1. Fenugreek Seeds:-

Fenugreek seeds have anti inflammatory properties which help curing nasal congestion. It also cleans mucus membranes. Moreover, fenugreek seed tea provides heat and moisture to our body which breaks the mucus. Mix 2 spoons of crushed fenugreek seeds in a cup of water. Boil it and then strain the mixture. Drink it when it is still warm. Do this 3 times a day until your recover.

Note:- Pregnant women should not eat fenugreek seeds because it stimulate uterine contractions.
